TECO embraces the concept of  “minimum environmental impact” for its products throughout their life, spanning development, manufacturing, and sales, and utilize its core energy-saving technology to help users reduce energy/resources consumption. Impact of products on the environment throughout their lifespan, as well as 
TECO's effort, follows:
(1) Material-input stage: Impact on environment comes mainly  from  containing  of  banned  or  restricted materials in raw materials/components/parts, air pollution and wastes generated from energy/resources utilization during the production process, and packaging materials and energy consumption during transportation. 
TECO has formulated “procedure for managing restricted/banned materials” and “labeling management for hazardous and harmful products,” specifying control and management of chemicals starting from product development, design, and materials procurement, in addition to looking into the effort of suppliers on environmental protection in their production process.
The company employs optimal transportation mode cutting times of transportation and secures cooperation with business partners in employing recyclable boxes in transporting goods and requires those using paper boxes to recycle them.
(2) Production impacts the environment by consuming energy/resources, polluting air, and generating wastes. TECO's Chungli factory, Hukou factory, and Kuanyin II factory are all located inside industrial zones, with minimum impact on environment, due to the absence of any ecological protection zone or habitat of bio-diversity. Factories use tap water and check waste water generated by production and daily-life activities regularly, assuring conformance to waste-water discharge standards. Waste water is channeled to waste-water treatment plant of the industrial zones for treatment.
The company has continued to downsize its products, in order to cut resources consumption, on top of the efforts for energy conservation/carbon abatement and product recycling/reuse (such as the recycling of scraps of silicon-steel plates). Equipment is installed to treat air pollutants generated from manufacturing process, to assure conformance to discharge standards, in addition to classifying wastes into "reusable" and "needing treatment," before commissioning qualified firms to do necessary treatment.
(3) Warehousing/transportation/sales may impact the environment, due to use of packaging materials, energy consumption for transportation, and CO2 emission. TECO employs simple packaging and reusable containers for transport, such as butterfly-shape recyclable cases for small motors and window air conditioners, doing away with paper boxes. Downsized models can also boost transport performance, lessening the impact of transport on the environment.
(4) Product usage impacts the environment, mainly via energy/resources consumption. TECO has dedicated to the development, production, and sales of energy-saving products, in order to lessen the impact of power and water consumption on the environment. Shipment of TECO's high energy-performance motor series, IE2 and IE3, as well as IE4 which just entered mass production, for instance, can help clients save 530 million kilowatts/hour of power consumption and cut CO2 emission by 282,000 metric tons a year. TECO's variable-frequency drives also enable industrial motors to cut power consumption by over 35%. Home appliances with first-grade energy performance passing certifications of environmental protection, energy conservation, and water conservation are also available. Thanks to its core energy-saving technology, the company has considerably boosted the energy-consumption efficiency for the use of its products, thereby lessening the impact on the environment.
(5) As waste recycling and treatment may pollute the environment, TECO incorporates the element of "resources recycling" into product design, assuring that products can be easily dismantled for recycling and most materials are recyclable. Currently, over 90% of TECO products, materials are recyclable.
